10th Dec – day 91 – We had spent the night at 88 Hostel and got up early to head to the Genocide Museum and The Killing Feilds in Phnom Pehn. Walking around both hits really hard as you listen to the audio tour in silence around the school that was turned into a prison and the Feilds where many lost their lives.

After a long and emotional day we got a night bus from Phnom Pehn to Sihanoukville. Unlucky for us, the bus didn’t actually get us there because the driver fell asleep at the wheel and we came off the road, down a ditch and into a tree! We had to jump out through the smashed windows and ended up hitchhiking to the airport and then getting a taxi! (Sorry Mum for not telling you)

11th Dec – day 92 – After a traumatic night on the bus we then got a boat to Koh Rong Sanloem. This island is just what you need after experiencing the craziness of South East Asia’s cities for a few months. No electricity. No signal. No running water. We stayed at the Yellow Moon Hostel, enjoyed the beach and clear waters before our first bucket shower and drinks!

12th Dec – day 93 – We spent the morning on the beach and met up with with Katie, who we had met in Sri Lanka. In the afternoon we took the hostel boat trip to go snorkeling and fishing around the island. I caught the biggest fish and Ash caught the smallest! In the evening we partied at the bar!

13th Dec – day 94 – The next day we met up with Orlaith and Ingus, who we had also met in Sri Lanka (small world) and we caught up on all our travels! We chilled on the beach, had some great food at some of the cafes on the island and partied in the night. Ash even got to see more bioluminescent plankton!

14th Dec – day 95 – We relaxed on the beach all day before getting the boat and our last 12 hour night bus to Siem Reap (thank goodness).

15th Dec – day 96 – We checked in to FunkyFlashpackers but unfortunately we all had a bit of a dodgy belly after the island life so we sat by the pool and watched Netflix all evening!

16th Dec – 97 – Another 4am alart to visit Ankor Wat at sunrise, which was magical! We then went to Bayon Temple and Ta Prohm (AKA tomb raider temple).

17th Dec – day 98 – Up early to catch our flight to Koh Samui ready for Christmas and New Year in Thailand!
