Munich and Austria

After an early flight from Birmingham to Munich we headed out to explore the town centre. We enjoyed our first beers and bratwurst!

We walked by the Marienplatz, Munich Residenz and Frauenkirche.

After walking around the centre we hopped on some bikes and rode to The English Garden, stopping at the Chinese Tower for another beer and pretzel and watching the surfers!

On our Second day in Munich we went to Dachau Concentration camp. We joined the. 3 hour tour around the grounds.

We then headed to another part of the city to BMW Munich and Olympia Park.

We finished the day and our final night in Munich at the Hofbrauhaus- the biggest pub and largest beers I had seen!

The next day we got the train to Hopfgarten, Austria! As soon we we arrived, we got kitted out and hit the slopes! Luckily Tim skiing improved over the 3 days.

Whilst in Austria we took a trip to Innbruck Olympic ice track and got to experience the bobsleigh..

On our final day we got the train back into Germany, hired a car and drove along the German Alpine Highway to Saltzburg and then back to Munich. First we stopped at The Parish Church of St. Sebastian.

Then we continued driving to Konigssee Lake.

We then drover higher into the mountains, past Berchtesgarden, and up to Obersalzberg. Obersalzberg is where one of Hitlers holiday homes were located.

We reached Salzberg, Austria just before it started to get dark, with enough time for a stroll around and to get some food.
